There's no better place to make a splash
Giving someone a skill for life. Making sure they are kept safe and happy whilst they are learning. Getting a real satisfaction out of making new friends or witnessing a child swim their first five metres in the pool. The list of personal rewards on offer when you join our Swim team really do speak for themselves. Every day will be different too. Whether you're a teacher who gets to have fun and games as part of their job, or a Lifeguard who is responsible for overseeing the activities that go on within the pool area, you won't be short of things to do. And, along the way, you'll meet many new people, each with lots of energy and a real passion for what they do.
If you have an ASA Level 2 qualification or equivalent and proven supervisory and scheduling experience gained working in a swimming environment, this role is tailor made for you. As well as recruiting, training, motivating and evaluating Swim Instructors/Teachers, you'll work with a Fitness Manager to devise truly innovative swimming programmes for both group and individual instruction. Listening to feedback about scheduling, the instruction provided and the swimming environment, will be important too, as will coming up with all the right answers.
If you have a flair for developing creative and innovative classes that follow the ASA National Swim Plan for Teaching Swimming, you're sure to shine here. Passionate about swimming and inspiring others to reach their own unique goals, you have what it takes to offer classes that range from Parent and Baby right through to Swim Clubs, Water Polo and Adult lessons. As well as an ASA Level 2 qualification or equivalent, we'll be looking for proven scheduling experience and an innate ability to get on well with people of all ages and from all walks of life.
The health and safety of our members who use the pool area will be in your hands in what is possibly the most vital role in the club. We'll also look to you to make sure all poolside activities are promoted and run effectively. A supportive customer service role that will see you provide personal attention and care to our members, you'll also see that the swimming areas and equipment are maintained and presented in line with Virgin Active brand standards. You'll be friendly and approachable and be RLSS qualified (NPLQ) – with any practical experience as a lifeguard being a definite plus.
There's much more to Virgin Active than meets the eye. Indeed, the diversity of roles on offer at Virgin Active may well surprise you. Take a look behind the scenes and see what and who makes us tick.
